Where to Park in Monaco
Monaco is built for cars but tight on space — here's how its public car parks work, and the smarter way to arrive.

Monaco is famously car-friendly — but it's also tiny, so parking takes a little planning.
Public car parks
Monaco runs an excellent network of public underground car parks, well-signed and reasonably priced, covering every district — near the Casino, Port Hercule, the Rock and Larvotto. They're the right choice for visitors; street parking is scarce and tightly controlled.
Good to know
- The first 30–60 minutes are often free in many car parks (confirm at the entrance — rules vary).
- Car parks fill during major events (Grand Prix, Yacht Show) — arrive early or avoid driving in.
- The principality is steep but linked by public lifts and escalators from the car parks to street level.
The smarter arrival
For a short visit, many travellers skip the car entirely: take the train or a transfer from Nice and walk. If you're touring the wider Riviera, hire a car for the day trips rather than for Monaco itself.
